Humanitarian Dinner

All About the Humanitarian Dinner
The Perry County Community Foundation’s Humanitarian Dinner is our signature annual fundraiser, held every first Thursday of November. This special evening honors a remarkable individual from Perry County who has demonstrated exceptional humanitarian efforts over time.
The Humanitarian of the Year is selected based on their meaningful contributions to our community. These contributions are not limited to monetary donations—they may also include generous gifts of time, talent, and expertise that have made a lasting impact in Perry County.
Since its inception in 2015, the Humanitarian Dinner has celebrated the dedication and generosity of local leaders, shining a spotlight on those who work tirelessly to improve the lives of others. The event also serves as an opportunity for the community to come together in support of PCCF’s mission to enhance the quality of life in Perry County.

Meet Our 2025 Humanitarian of the Year
Mike Zahner
The Perry County Community Foundation is thrilled to honor Michael D. Zahner as our 2025 Humanitarian of the Year—a true pillar of Perry County whose lifelong commitment to professional excellence and community service has left an indelible mark on our community.
Building More Than a Career—Building a Legacy
For over 45 years, Mike has shaped our community—literally. As a licensed Land Surveyor and founder of Zahner & Associates, Inc., he has led with integrity, innovation, and a passion for mentoring others. His influence extends statewide through leadership roles in professional organizations, including the Missouri Society of Professional Surveyors and the National Society of Professional Surveyors. In 2023, Mike was honored with the prestigious Robert E. Myers Service Award.
A Quiet Force in Community Life
Mike’s contributions reach far beyond professional accomplishments. His servant leadership touches nearly every corner of Perry County. From the Perry County Mental Health Board to the Midwest Geospatial Academy, and from St. Rose of Lima Parish to the National Veterans Memorial, Mike has been a consistent and caring presence. He also serves through the Knights of Columbus, Rotary Club, and the Perry County Historical Society, among many others.
Mike leads with humility, consistency, and heart—and our community is stronger because of it.
