Committed to Community Betterment

The Perry County Community Foundation thrives because of the dedication, vision, and passion of our Board of Directors. We are always seeking community-minded leaders who are committed to making a meaningful impact in Perry County. Serving on the PCCF board is an opportunity to shape the future of our community, support local nonprofits, and be part of a team that drives positive change—all while building relationships with other engaged and inspiring leaders.

Qualifications and Selection Criteria

  • Commitment to Community – Board members are elected based on their interest in improving the quality of life in Perry County, Missouri, and their demonstrated leadership.

  • No Residency Requirement – Board members need NOT be residents of Perry County.

  • Term Length – Members are elected for a three-year term beginning at the Annual Meeting each January. Members may serve up to two consecutive terms (maximum of six years).

  • Attendance – Consistent participation is expected. Missing three consecutive regular monthly board meetings or five meetings in a fiscal year without an acceptable excuse is considered a resignation.

Calendar Commitments

Service includes participation in monthly meetings, key annual events, and committee work.

  • Monthly Board Meetings – Held the 4th Wednesday of each month from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. (typically at Robinson Construction). A virtual option is available, though in-person attendance is encouraged.

  • Special Board Meetings – Called as needed for urgent matters (e.g., disaster relief efforts). These are rare.

  • January: Annual Dinner – Replaces the January board meeting. Current and past board members and spouses/significant others are invited. Elections of board members and officers occur during this meeting.

  • May: Taco ‘Bout It Educational Luncheon – An annual luncheon focused on a timely community topic. Committee members are required to attend; all board members are encouraged to attend.

  • November: Humanitarian Dinner – Held the first Thursday of November, this is PCCF’s largest annual fundraiser honoring the Humanitarian of the Year. All board members are strongly encouraged to attend. (No regular board meeting is held in November.)

  • December Meeting: In December, we hold our monthly board meeting on the first Wednesday of the month rather than the fourth Wednesday.  At this meeting, we debrief from the Humanitarian Dinner and prepare for the Annual Meeting in January.

  • Committee Meetings: Board members are encouraged to serve on one or more committees, which meet outside regular board meetings (often virtually) and report back to the board.

Committees

Serving on the PCCF Board of Directors is more than attending meetings—it’s about actively shaping the work of the Foundation. One of the most impactful ways board members contribute is through participation on committees. Committees allow members to focus their skills, interests, and expertise on specific areas of our work, helping to guide programs, events, and initiatives that strengthen Perry County.

Some of our key committees include:

  • Executive Board

  • Finance

  • Scholarship

  • Taco 'Bout It

  • Humanitarian Dinner

  • Fund Development

  • Others as Needed

By joining a committee, board members have the opportunity to make a direct impact, develop leadership skills, and help shape the future of Perry County.
